Short Biography
Daniel Fasnacht is study manager and lecturer for Finance Executive Education and SFIL Fellow at the Department of Banking and Finance and a Full Member of the Digital Society Initiative of the University of Zurich. He has spent his career as a management consultant, banker, and CEO of asset managers in the financial sector in Switzerland, Germany, Latin America, and the UK. After he received his degrees in Business Informatics, he completed an MBA at the University of St. Gallen in collaboration with the University of Berkeley and a PhD in Strategic Management at the University of Nottingham. He is the CEO and Founder of EcosystemPartners AG, very well connected in the financial community and engaged in associations such as Asia Society, Efficiency Club, Swiss Board Forum, swissICT, among others.
Research Interests
Daniel Fasnacht works at the intersection of finance and technology and studies trends and disruptive business models that transform the financial services sector. What started with his PhD research, i.e. Open Innovation in the Financial Services, built the basis for further explorations into digital platforms, ecosystems, and most recently, frugal banking and public value.
